Doctor of Ministry Degree Program Description

The Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) is a 36–semester–hour advanced degree program designed to strengthen church leaders and ministry practitioners who desire a deeper understanding of God’s Word and greater effectiveness in leading others. This program builds upon biblical scholarship and practical ministry application, equipping students to lead with wisdom, vision, and spiritual maturity in diverse ministry settings.

Pre-requisite: A Master's degree (Any discipline)

Tuition:  $399 per 3 credit hours

Learning Method 

The student will study independently and will utilize our Moodle Online Learning Management System. Each of the ten courses will comprise a Commentary which is approximately one hundred pages. Online quizzes and exams are included. The student will also need to read approximately 750 pages of outside reading and write a 12-20 page research paper germane to the course.

GBPA 660 Understanding Prayer

This course gives advanced information on the prayer life of the Believer, as well as those specifically called into the ministry. It explains how prayer is pictured and personified for us. It concerns understanding the source and purpose of prayer. Intercessory prayer is discussed in detail, and Paul's prayer life is given as an example for us to follow. The course discusses praying in tongues as a form of spiritual warfare.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the source, purpose, and biblical foundation of prayer, understanding its role in the life of every believer and minister.
  2. Analyze how prayer is pictured and personified in Scripture, recognizing its spiritual depth and function.
  3. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of intercessory prayer, applying biblical principles to personal and ministry contexts.
  4. Evaluate the prayer life of the Apostle Paul, identifying patterns and practices applicable to modern believers.
  5. Explain praying in tongues as a form of spiritual warfare, applying it biblically and responsibly within a balanced prayer life.


GADM 651 Building Strong Leaders

This course deals with the need for mature Christians. It discusses the characteristics of true leaders and how to develop them within the Body of Christ. Some of the topics discussed in this commentary are: Church Discipline, Spiritual Burnout, Biblical Counseling, Stewardship, Tithing, and the Ordained Christian Life.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the biblical need for mature Christian leadership within the Body of Christ.
  2. Identify the characteristics of true spiritual leaders, grounded in Scripture, integrity, and service.
  3. Demonstrate strategies for developing leaders within the Church through mentoring, discipleship, and accountability.
  4. Apply biblical principles related to church discipline, stewardship, and tithing, fostering healthy leadership practices.
  5. Recognize and address leadership challenges, including spiritual burnout, pastoral care needs, and the responsibilities of the ordained Christian life.


GBNT 642 Epistles to the Hebrews

This course gives a detailed look at the Book of Hebrews. It begins with a brief outline of the entire book, then provides commentary on the Hebrew scriptures verse by verse. Some of the main topics in the commentary are: the Revelation of the Son, the Messiah greater than Moses, Jesus our High Priest, the Old Covenant's Sanctuary, the Hall of Faith, and Examples of Christ's Endurance.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the structure, purpose, and major themes of the Book of Hebrews within its historical and biblical context.
  2. Interpret Hebrews verse by verse, demonstrating understanding of its use of Old Testament Scripture.
  3. Analyze Christ’s superiority, including His role as the revelation of the Son, Messiah greater than Moses, and our Great High Priest.
  4. Explain the relationship between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, including the symbolism of the sanctuary and sacrificial system.
  5. Apply key teachings from Hebrews, such as faith, perseverance, and Christ’s endurance, to personal spiritual growth, ministry, and leadership.


GBTH 670 Advanced Hermeneutics

This course is a continuation of the Master's course, Graduate Hermeneutics. It provides more detail on the art of Exegesis and Hermeneutic methods. The course provides a historical overview of how the Hermeneutic process developed and how the Holy Spirit works to confirm and strengthen it. There are sections on Doctrinal Hermeneutics and, lastly, the Principles of Hermeneutics.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate advanced competency in biblical exegesis, applying rigorous interpretive methods to Scripture with accuracy and depth.
  2. Explain the historical development of hermeneutics, understanding how interpretive methods have evolved within the Church.
  3. Apply doctrinal hermeneutics, ensuring theological consistency and biblical integrity in interpretation.
  4. Integrate the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding, confirming, and strengthening the hermeneutical process without compromising sound scholarship.
  5. Apply the principles of hermeneutics to advanced teaching, preaching, counseling, and academic research, producing interpretations that are faithful, balanced, and Christ-centered.


GBPA - 620 Destiny- Seeking After God's Purpose

 Destiny: Seeking After God’s Purpose is an advanced course designed to guide believers in understanding, discerning, and walking in God’s divine purpose for their lives. This course explores the biblical concept of destiny, emphasizing God’s sovereignty, calling, preparation, and timing in shaping a believer’s life and ministry. Students will examine how faith, obedience, character development, and spiritual discernment align with God’s plan, as well as how challenges, delays, and trials are often part of the process of fulfillment. The course equips students to pursue God’s purpose with clarity, perseverance, and confidence, applying biblical principles to personal growth, leadership, and ministry effectiveness. 

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the biblical understanding of destiny and God’s purpose as revealed in Scripture.
  2. Analyze biblical examples of individuals who pursued God’s calling and destiny through faith and obedience 
  3. Identify personal calling, gifts, and preparation in relation to God’s purpose for life and ministry.
  4. Apply biblical principles for discernment, patience, and perseverance while seeking God’s direction 
  5. Integrate faith-based strategies to walk confidently in God’s purpose, demonstrating spiritual maturity, resilience, and obedience.


GBTH 640 Covenants

This  course discusses all the Old Testament Covenants, how they culminate in  the Messianic Covenant, and how they offer us valuable insights for  today’s society. The true biblical definition of the word “covenant” is discussed, along with its relevance to our modern world. It also compares the word "covenant" from both Old and New Testament perspectives.

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Define the biblical concept of covenant, explaining its meaning and theological significance.
  2. Identify and explain the major Old Testament covenants, including their purpose and promises.
  3. Analyze how Old Testament covenants culminate in the Messianic Covenant fulfilled in Christ.
  4. Compare covenant theology from Old and New Testament perspectives, recognizing continuity and fulfillment.
  5. Apply covenant principles to contemporary Christian faith, ethics,  and society, understanding their relevance for modern life and  spiritual commitment.


GCCS 630 Marriage Counseling

This course begins with premarital counseling and continues through marital problems, examining Biblical marriage models. It will give tips on choosing the right mate, the effects of premarital counseling, marriage problems, and working through marital conflicts.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain biblical models of marriage, applying Scripture-based principles to premarital and marital counseling.
  2. Demonstrate effective premarital counseling practices, including guidance on mate selection and preparation for marriage.
  3. Identify common marital problems, understanding their emotional, spiritual, and relational roots.
  4. Apply biblical counseling strategies to help couples work through marital conflict and communication challenges.
  5. Support the development of healthy, Christ-centered marriages, promoting restoration, unity, and long-term marital stability.


GBPR 671 The Book of Revelation

This course gives a detailed look at the Book of Revelation. It discusses the book chapter by chapter. It gives vital information on the things that were, the things that are, and the things that will be hereafter. The commentary discusses: The sealed book, Daniel's seventieth week, the six trumpets, the vials of wrath, the doom of Babylon, and the return of Christ.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the structure and purpose of the Book of Revelation, interpreting it within its biblical and historical context.
  2. Distinguish between “the things that were, the things that are, and the things that will be”, as outlined in Revelation.
  3. Analyze key prophetic elements, including the sealed book, Daniel’s seventieth week, the trumpets, and the vials of wrath.
  4. Interpret major prophetic themes, such as the judgment of Babylon, God’s sovereignty, and the culmination of redemptive history.
  5. Apply the message of Revelation to personal faith and ministry, emphasizing hope, perseverance, and readiness for the return of Christ.


GBCU 603 Tithing, Before, During, and After the Law

This course provides a clear perspective on tithing from the Old Testament. It helps the Believer understand why tithing is still necessary today. It cites the blessings given to those who tithe and put God's Kingdom first. It distinguishes between Old Testament Tithing and New Testament Tithing.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the biblical foundation of tithing, tracing its origin before the Law, its role under the Law, and its fulfillment in the New Testament.
  2. Distinguish between Old Testament and New Testament perspectives on tithing, understanding continuity, purpose, and application.
  3. Articulate why tithing remains relevant today, emphasizing stewardship and Kingdom priorities.
  4. Identify biblical promises and blessings associated with faithful giving, grounded in Scripture rather than legalism.
  5. Apply biblical principles


GMIS 660 World Religions

This course covers the religions of the world, provides brief descriptions of them, and compares them with Christianity. It deals with some of the satanic leaders and how they rose to power in the occult. The commentary includes detailed lists of the many religious sects.

 

Learning Outcomes – 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and describe major world religions and religious sects, recognizing their origins, beliefs, and practices.
  2. Compare and contrast world religions with Christianity, clearly distinguishing biblical truth from non-biblical belief systems.
  3. Analyze the rise and influence of occult movements and satanic leaders, using historical and theological perspectives.
  4. Demonstrate biblical discernment in evaluating religious teachings, philosophies, and spiritual claims.
  5. Engage respectfully and knowledgeably with individuals of other faiths, applying biblical understanding in ministry, counseling, and evangelism.


DISS 701  Dissertation  

The Doctor of Ministry Dissertation is the culminating scholarly and ministry-focused project of the D.Min. program. It is designed to demonstrate the candidate’s ability to integrate advanced biblical theology, ministry leadership, pastoral practice, and applied research to address real and pressing issues within the Church and ministry contexts.


The dissertation focuses on a practical ministry problem or opportunity, such as pastoral leadership, discipleship, counseling, church growth, spiritual formation, missions, conflict resolution, or community transformation. Unlike a purely theoretical dissertation, this project emphasizes the impact of applied ministry, showing how biblical principles can be effectively implemented in real-world ministry settings.
